Hibiki 12 Year Old Blended Whisky, Japan OC1

Suntory Whisky was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. For over three generations, Suntory's master blenders have devoted themselves to pursuing the harmony of Japanese nature and craftsmanship. Shaped through masterful technique and served with a reverence for Japanese omotenashi, Suntory whiskies are among the most awarded and admired in the world.

Hibiki is the paragon of harmony - launched in 1989 to commemorate Suntory's philosophy on living in harmony with people and nature. The name Hibiki means "resonance" in Japanese. Suntory Whisky Hibiki resonates with the subtleties of nature infused by the twenty-four reasons of Japan's traditional calendar and reflected in the twenty-four facets of its bottle's designs.

Hibiki is a noble blend of innumerous malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's globally acclaimed Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries. These whiskies are meticulously blended to created a sense of "wa" - a oneness which unveils a full orchestra of flavours and aroma.

Suntory's excellent Hibiki 12 Year Old blended Japanese whisky, including malts from Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries. On the nose is a juicy marmalade with real chunks of orange, cooked apples dusted with cinnamon, thick honey and plum wine. The palate is crushed almonds, stewed fruits, clove-studded oranges. Sherried malt and a subtle core of oak. The whisky finishes bright and flavoursome with crisp apple and citrus.

2020 Colore Rosso Toscana, Bibi Graetz

Bibi Graetz: "Monumental, there is no better word to characterise this vintage of roundness in every single aspect of the wine. Colore has elegance, freshness and an incredible acidity that is surprisingly noticeable on the nose and at the first sip."

JAMES SUCKLING 98

"The subtlety and fragrance of this wine are enchanting, offering flowers, orange peel and cherries. Also wonderful ripe strawberries. Full-bodied but not over the top, with polished tannins that run the length of the wine. It's dense, but shows all the signs of a great wine. You want to drink it now, and you probably should, because it's so seductive. But it will also age beautifully."

2022 Jungìmmune Rosato, Gustinella

Nerello Mascalese- aged in stainless steel, spontaneous fermentation.

The nose is articulated and pleasant, characterized by hints of small red berried fruits, then completed by mineral nuances, savory and balsamic. The sip follows the path of the nose, revealing itself to be smooth, crunchy and of excellent length.

For Sonia Gambino, the story of her winery is one of making lemonade out of lemons - or rather, phenomenal wine out of serendipitous grapes. Sonia Gambino was born in Bronte but raised in Milan. Her wine journey began fresh out of university with a degree in Gastronomic Sciences & a fiery enthusiasm. On a trip to Piedmont, Sonia was inspired by legendary winemakers such as Maria Teresa of Bartolo Mascarello and decided to study viticulture at University. Sonia was soon hired by Chateau Lèoville Las Cases, the famous Bordeaux estate, where she remained for a year in the role of assistant winemaker. After some time she returned to Italy, where the call of the vines brought her back to her family home in Maletto. In Sonia’s words, “When I arrived here, many told me ‘In Maletto there is nothing.’ But I found treasure, made of uncontaminated and powerful nature,of an ancient and precious agricultural culture. Here I discovered centenary vineyards rich in almost lost varieties, colors, scents, energy, immersed in the woods and intertwined with cherry and walnut trees. I decided to become its keeper,’ and transform its fruits into authentic, artisanal, and totally natural wines.”

2024 Corza Beoda, Jade Gross

Varieties Viura/ Tempranillo blanco / Garnacha blanca

More Info On Jade Gross:

Jade Gross is an absolute powerhouse young woman who was born in Hong Kong. She began her career as a human rights lawyer, completing a degree from the London School Of Economics. When she realized she “wasn’t going to save the world”, Jade shifted her focus and enrolled in a French cooking school armed with a fresh grant from the James Beard Foundation.

She then spent time working at Michelin star restaurants beginning as an intern at Alain Ducass au Plaza Athénée. From there she worked in other top Michelin star restaurants from D.O.M in Sau Paulo, to Celler de Can Roca in Spain before landing at Mugaritz in San Sebastian where she climbed the ranks to head chef.

For most, this would be the pinnacle of achievement, however not for Jade. She felt herself wanting more, and had a sense that she had accomplished all she could in the world of cuisine.

It was time for a new adventure...

For her next act, Jade decided that she wanted to make wine, something that would allow her to learn and grow in newfound ways that the kitchen could no longer offer. Jade moved to the small Spanish town of San Vincente de la Sonsierra and found mentors in Abel Mendoza and his wife Maite Fernandez. Under their guidance, Jade began making wine in 2019 and hasn’t looked back.

We are thrilled to offer a small handful of Jade’s exceptional wines. These wines are expressive, beautiful, and majestic.

Exclusively avaliable in BELGIUM from DELEF Wines.
